Cats are not always the solitary and independent animals that we know. Sometimes these little balls of hair surprise us. This is the case of Steve, this beautiful red cat living in New Zealand who discovered an uncommon passion for his species, because usually reserved for dogs: the guard of herds!
An incredible instinct
It is on a cold winter night that this unusual story began. Ben and Amanda, a New Zealand couple who own a herd of lambs and a cat named Steve, decide to bring in their little ones for a few nights in order to protect them from the harsh climate. Steve the cat is then a good little companion who loves to laze inside the house. But things will suddenly change. After getting to know the lambs during those few days of confinement, Steve strangely and suddenly knotted with them a strong friendship.
As soon as they went outside, this indoor cat followed them and started living among the flock and playing with the little sheep. Its owners were the first surprised by the turn of events. Especially since the story did not stop there. Not only did Steve begin to think he was a sheep, but he also took the lead. His new friends immediately accepted him and naturally began to imitate him and follow him everywhere. This wonderful story of friendship proves once again that our adorable four-legged friends can always surprise us!
